Redpen was established in 2003 by Catherine Studsgarth and Kristine Howkins Lange, and since its start has worked for many diverse companies.
Redpen is currently run solely by Catherine, who has a background in communication and industrial psychology. She was born and educated in England, before moving to Denmark (via California, USA) more than a decade ago, where she now lives with her husband and two children.
In the past, she has taught English, worked as an HR manager for LEGO and as an editor and terminologist for Microsoft, before focusing on providing effective written communication for a wide range of clients and industries with Redpen.
What’s in a name?
Redpen stands for quality, accuracy and effectiveness, all of which are embodied by the red pen. Editors and proofreaders traditionally use red ink to correct hard copy (the red makes the edits easier to see).
